Inhalers

In order to optimise the care and safety of our patients with asthma, we will now issue your salbutamol inhaler as you require it (on acute prescription, rather than repeat). Please be assured that you will never be refused your inhaler. However, if you are needing to use it more frequently, it will mean we can arrange a review with an appropriate clinician, to ensure you are on the most appropriate and optimal asthma treatment.

In order to support the NHS to reduce its carbon footprint we are also changing ventolin/salbutamol inhalers over to Salamol which is has a significantly lower impact on the environment. You may notice a change in the taste of the inhaler which is normal but it should not impact on your asthma control.
