Introducing Accurx Scribe at Peartree Group Practice

From 1 October 2026, Peartree Group Practice will be introducing Accurx Scribe, an AI-powered tool designed to help our clinicians with clinical note-taking during consultations.

We have been trialling Accurx Scribe with a number of our clinicians over the past six months, and we have found that it can make a positive difference to both clinicians and patients.

By reducing the amount of time clinicians need to spend typing during consultations, Scribe can help them focus more fully on listening and talking to you. It also helps us maintain clear, accurate and consistent clinical records.

What is Accurx Scribe?

Accurx Scribe uses artificial intelligence to listen to the conversation during a consultation and create a draft clinical note for your clinician.

The technology is used to assist with documentation only.

Scribe does not:

  • Diagnose medical conditions
  • Decide what treatment you should receive
  • Make prescribing decisions
  • Make referral decisions
  • Replace the professional judgement of your doctor, nurse or other healthcare professional

Your clinician remains fully responsible for your care and for the information recorded in your medical record. They will review, amend where necessary and approve the clinical note before it is added to your record.

If you have access to your consultation notes through the NHS App, some notes may therefore have been created with the assistance of AI. These notes have still been reviewed and approved by your healthcare professional.

What happens to the conversation?

During your consultation, Accurx Scribe processes the conversation in real time to produce a transcript and draft clinical note.

The audio recording is stored securely by Accurx for one month only.

Appropriate NHS information governance, confidentiality and data protection safeguards are in place. The information processed by Scribe is not used to train AI models.

Do I have to use Accurx Scribe?

No, you do not have to use Accurx Scribe.

We intend to use Scribe routinely where it is helpful, but you can opt out by asking your clinician not to use it at any time.

You do not need to give a reason, and choosing not to use Scribe will not affect the care you receive in any way.

Your clinician can also stop using Scribe at any point during your consultation.

Why are we introducing Accurx Scribe?

Our aim is simple: to give clinicians more time to focus on you.

Clinical consultations involve a significant amount of record-keeping, and traditionally this can mean clinicians spending part of the consultation typing notes on a computer.

By assisting with this documentation, Scribe can help clinicians spend more of the consultation listening, talking and engaging with you, while also supporting clear and accurate clinical records.

Following our successful six-month trial, we believe Accurx Scribe can support more patient-focused consultations, clearer clinical records and patient safety, while keeping all clinical decision-making firmly with your healthcare professional.

Have a question?

If you have any questions about Accurx Scribe, or if you would prefer it not to be used during your consultation, please speak to your clinician or any member of the Peartree Group Practice team.

Your choice will not affect the care you receive.
